Siam insect zoo & museum located on a Maerim-Samoeng Road (of a right hand side if you drive from Chiangmai), and nearby a monkey school. It's not far from Chiangmai downtown (if you have a car), and a bit easy to find due to a sign board alongside the road. This insect museum is highly recommend for a family with young children (most children but not all), and ones who focused on bugs and butterflies. The museum is well organised, and having friendly employees.
Siam insect zoo & museum is situated on the right hand in Soi Rong Rian Ling, 2 km before Mae Sa waterfall. It is a place for rearing and research many types of bug. In addition, the place is a museum for hoarding of bug from all over the earth for 20 years. This place also has a big butterfly backyard that butterflies are raised and one of the world's high-quality butterfly grange. substantial unique insects are also exhibited throughout the year such as, Stick Insect, leaf Insect, many types of Stag Beetle and Rhinoceros Beetle, Siamese rhinoceros beetle, Yellow five-horned beetle, etc. The beetle fighting time is from September to November every year.
You can find also many real insects housed in nurture and rearing cages. They include but not only, Stag beetles, Stick insects, Scarab beetles, foliage insects, and of course Butterflies and Moths. In addition, Siam Insect Zoo have a grave butterfly nurture and rearing plans, hence they now have a more number of substantial butterflies to release into our butterfly garden everyday. Not only it is the place for exposition of insects from all-around the planet, Siam insect zoo & museum also raises and displays living insects furthermore how to bring up rose beetle, stick insect, foliage insect, orchid mantis, butterfly, dragonfly, ant, wasp, millipede, giant spider and scorpion. Additionally, there's also a large butterfly backyard for traveller to study nature and food of butterflies and caterpillars.
One excitement little amusement for us was a visit to the Siam insect zoo & museum. It’s around thirty minutes out of city, near Maerim, Tiger Kingdom and a bunch of other attractions. Don't skip this, principally if you like insects.
We could have use more time here, and greatly valued the one on one empathy from the workers as they walked around with us, mainly giving us a private tour of the insects! The facility was not big, but it was well done. Your children will love it!
